Universities Week 2012 (30 April–7 May) aims to increase public awareness of the wide and varied role of the UK’s universities.

It is the third annual national campaign of its kind and will this time incorporate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as its overarching theme.

 
The campaign is being coordinated by Universities UK and British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS).

 
It is supported by universities across the UK and a wide range of organisations including Podium, the National Union of Students (NUS), Research Councils UK, GuildHE, the Universities Marketing Forum, Higher Education Funding Council for England and many more.

 
The week will culminate in the BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships, which will be held in the Olympic Stadium as part of the London Prepares series.
